A loft conversion adds an entire floor without losing any garden. We design lofts as proper rooms — full-height ceilings, generous windows, en-suite bathrooms — not afterthoughts squeezed into the rafters.
Is a loft conversion right for you?
Loft conversions add a whole floor without losing your garden — but only some roofs are suited to it. You'll usually get the most out of one if you're in this position:
- Families needing extra bedrooms — a master suite or two kids' rooms with an en-suite are the most common scopes.
- Anyone wanting a quiet home office or studio without sacrificing living-room space below.
- Period houses with unused roof volume — Victorian and Edwardian terraces often have generous lofts that fall under permitted development.
- Conservation areas where front-elevation changes are restricted but rear/mansard work is often acceptable.
We confirm head-height, structural feasibility and the planning route on the first visit — and tell you honestly if a loft isn't the best use of your budget.
Choose what fits your home.
Different houses, different streets, different families. We help you pick the right approach on the very first visit — based on plot, planning constraints and how you actually want to live.
From sketch to keys — five stages.
Every loft conversion we deliver runs through the same five stages. One team across all of them — no juggling sub-contractors, no chasing decisions.

Common questions.
The things clients usually ask before getting started.
Will my loft conversion need planning permission?
Many lofts fall under permitted development if you stay within volume limits. Conservation areas always need full planning. We handle either route.
How tall must my loft be to convert?
You need at least 2.2m of head height in the existing loft. We measure on the first visit and confirm what conversion fits.
Will the build be disruptive?
Most of the work happens upstairs, with rooflight access for materials. You stay in your home throughout.
How long does a loft conversion take?
Standard dormer: 8–10 weeks. Mansard: 12–14 weeks. Faster than most extensions.
